Our First Christmas

I have been looking forward to the Christmas season for a while and it is so nice to be spending it with my husband this year. We put our first tree up this year, we actually got his parent's old tree they didn't want anymore. That saved us a lot of money. So, if you know me "it just had to match the house" so I went shopping and bought all new ornaments and mixed it with some silver ones I already had. I don't think Karson was too happy about that, but hey the tree looks nice and it will last for several years. The tree is silver, gold, and a green color. I saw it in a magazine and it is a lot of the colors we have in our house. We also put a smaller tree in the kitchen, that my aunt and uncle gave me one year, it has all kinds of pretty silver ornaments. I have two other really small trees, one has his ornaments I have given him over the past few years (in his office) and the other I have in the extra bedroom, with just left over red and gold ornaments. We hung our stockings on the entertainment center, since we have no fireplace, it looks good though. Our first present this year was a beautiful willow tree nativity set, my parents gave us. They have one and knew that I really wanted one to. So, all my finals are over and it's great to just be working. Only one more week of work and I will off until the first week of January, it's great working at a school. We are looking forward to spending time together with family and friends celebrating Jesus's birth and enjoying each other's company. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and New Year filled with Christ's love. Karson's tree (It's mostly car ornaments)

Things I'm loving

So I jumped on the twilight bandwagon. I don't read as much as I should but I did manage to read the first book and now I'm 8 chapters into the second book. I can't wait until the movie comes out.

A new show I have been watching is on the style channel, which I now have on our dish. It is Giuliana & Bill. Giuliana is one of the news anchors on E! news and her husband Bill Rancic was the winner of the first apprentice. So anyways it shows their live together traveling from california to chicago and the house they build together. I have found it interesting and funny and will continue to watch it.

Engagement pics to Wedding day!

Okay so I haven't posted in about 2 months, but we have been very busy. We just got married on July 25 and before that were spending all our extra time working on the wedding details and decorating our house. The wedding was great, from what little I can remember. It all went by so fast. We had a great honeymoon and are excited about spending the rest of our lives together. If you have facebook, I just spent like an hour putting up a ton of pictures, so this is all I'm saying for now. I will just leave you with some pictures. I will post the actual wedding day photos later when I get the c.d. Thanks!

Catching Up

So okay it's been almost 2 months since I last blogged, but I have been very busy. I finished my semester of school, started a new job, have been decorating the house when I get a chance, and doing wedding stuff. It is getting crunch time, so I'm starting to stress a little. Everything thing will work out, hopefully. We have done a lot more to the house, but still have a lot to go. We just had a shower and were so blessed with so many wonderful gifts. We probably are not going to have to buy much, which will be amazing. So I really don't have much to say right now, so I will leave you with some pictures.

I know it has been a while. (I did this for you Melissa)

Well I know I haven't written in a while, but I have been busy. Finishing up this school semester, planning a wedding, trying to start decorating a house, and looking for a job has kept me very busy. I'll admit life for me right now is very exciting, but also stressful. I have finally picked our wedding invitations and ordered some of the rental things we need. I have all of the musicians I want for the wedding booked, but I still need to finalize all of the music selections. It is hard to pick the perfect songs for each part of the ceremony. Anyways, we started decorating the house a little bit. It will take us a while because we don't have much right now. I'm lucky that Karson is such a handy man though, because he can do most of the work by himself we need done. Last weekend he put our kitchen table and chairs together, hung up the curtains in the kitchen, installed a peep hole in the door, put up a kick plate, and changed the light fixtures outside. I know you are saying so what did u do. I cleaned the whole house. I cleaned the bathrooms and dusted and vacuumed everything. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it took me forever and it was a good workout. So I forgot to take a picture of what we have done so I will have to do that later and post it. That's all for now and I leave you with some pictures we took a few weekends ago when we went to the Oasis restaurant for our 6 year anniversary. The view of lake travis is amazing. However, the day we ate their it was very windy and it was blowing our chips everywhere. We still had a good time though. Enjoy and happy easter!

Home SWEET Home

Well we bought a house on Sunday. We ended up buying in China Spring. It is just about 20 minutes away, the price was great, and we really like the area. It will be nice to live there as newlyweds because we will be far enough away to have our own little family in a different town, but it is also close enough to go visit them. We will close at the end of March, we are very excited and blessed. The house still needs carpet, applicances, and sod in the yard, but will look great when it's done. It is great to have a house this early so we can fix it up and have it all finished by the time we get married and move in. So here it is.

Planning, Planning, Planning

So if you know me well you probably know that I am a planner. If I could plan everything now I would. I like to be in control and I like to know what is going to happen. Well life doesn't really work that way and the more I plan and what things to go a certain way, when they don't I just get disappointed. Needless to say here is what I have been up to lately.
1-Planning our wedding
2-Searching for a house
3-Going to school
4-Searching for a job
I have been doing a lot of planning for the wedding and actually have most of it done. I still need to find a caterer and finalize some other details though. I also have to pick out Karson's wedding band. The past few weekends we have been house hunting. With the market the way it is it cost just about the same to buy as it does to rent so we thought we would go for it. I'm excited but it can be stressful. There is hardly anything in Hewitt we like that we can afford, and if we can it is really old. We actually found a new development that is building new houses for very reasonable prices, the only thing is we would have to compromise on the location. We would be about 25 minutes away. I know that isn't too far, but this is a big step for us. Anyways, we are going to look into it more and keep searching. Hopefully we will find the right house for us soon, I would like to have it all ready for when we get married. When I'm not planning I'm going to school, which is stressful in itself. I don't know what my problem is but I have been really aggrevated by school lately and I don't particularily care for all of my teachers this semester, some of them are so unorganized. That drives me up the wall. Other than that everything is fine. Oh and I'm also trying to find a job for this summer and next year. I'm hoping to get an aide job at a school next year, since I will be starting the UTA program and will be going to school at night. Well I have a lot on my plate right now and I hope everything works out. Pray for me!

Wedding Planning!

Well I know I haven't written in a while, but after getting engaged I have been doing a lot of planning. It was nice over the holidays because I didn't have school and we went shopping or planning almost everyday. It was fun and sometimes stressful, but exciting. Now I feel more relaxed because we already have a lot of the major things out of the way. I already ordered my dress, picked out the bridesmaids dresses, picked out the wedding colors, booked the florist, photographer, cake lady, picked the place and the date, and already did our registries. Yeah! I still need to decide about a caterer and take care of a lot of other details, but it is moving along well. I still have about 6 months to work on it. Our wedding day is set for July 25th of this year! I'm so excited and can't wait.
Everyone feel free to offer me any suggestions about wedding details or vendors that worked for you.
Thanks!
