22 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along - 22 Weeks
Size of Baby - Papaya (about 11 inches and 1 pound)
Development - His face is fully formed.  He can hear my voice and heartbeat.
Weight Gain - I gained 1 pound, so that makes a total of +2 pounds from start weight.  I've actually gained about 9 pounds if you include the weight I lost and gained back, but I don't.
Maternity Clothes -   I'm mostly wearing maternity clothes now.  My favorite thing is still tights/leggings with tunics.
Sleep -  I'm still sleeping pretty well, but I've been really tired lately.
Cravings - I enjoy Mexican and Chinese food.  I love having a glass of chocolate milk in the morning  and I'm enjoying salads more.  I love a salad with fruit, candied pecans and Briana's blush wine vinegarette dressing.  I also like ice cream!
Miss Anything - Not really, besides having more energy.
Gender - It's a boy!  Ellis Jack!
Symptoms - I'm feeling pretty good now, but have been pretty exhausted lately.  I'm also having sciatic nerve pain and occasional leg cramps.
Favorite thing - Feeling baby boy move and kick!

20 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along - 20 Weeks (I'm actually 21 weeks today, but I posting this late.)
Size of Baby - Banana (about 6.5 inches & 10.2 ounces)
Development - Working on his five senses and drinking amniotic fluid.
Weight Gain - I gained 2 pounds so that makes +1 pound.  Even if I gain a pound every week from now on that should be around 21 pounds.  So, I think that's pretty good.  We'll see what happens.
Maternity Clothes - My pants ate too tight.  I'm mostly wearing maternity clothes now.  My favorite thing is still tights/leggings with tunics.
Sleep -  I'm still sleeping pretty well.
Cravings - I'm still not really craving anything.  I enjoy Mexican and Chinese food.  I also enjoy sweets too!
Miss Anything - Not really, especially the litter box!  I love that only Karson can do that job now!
Gender - It's a boy!  Ellis Jack!
Symptoms - I'm feeling pretty good now.  I think I'm in my nesting phase.  I had some bad leg caroms this past week.
Favorite moment - This morning I finally felt the baby kick.  Karson felt it too, but it was very faint.  It was exciting though!

It's a boy!

 Introducing Ellis Jack Swartz!

We found out the gender last week and had been dying to know!  It was neat to see our baby move and kick during the ultrasound.  He was stubborn and stayed on his tummy the whole time.  They had a hard time getting the pictures they needed, but we found out it was a boy!  We had a feeling it was a boy, but weren't sure.  We were so excited!  Karson has been more excited now he knows it's a boy and can't wait to start teaching him about cars!

We planned a small family party the following weekend.  So, it was very hard to keep it a secret.  I'm so bad at this, but wanted it to be special for our families, so we kept our mouths shut.  I was proud of myself for not slipping at work and accidentally telling someone.  When we found out we were pregnant, we ended up telling more people then we had planned out early on.  Anyways, at the party we popped a balloon with the right color of confetti.  It went everywhere, but was kind of hard to see.  Everyone was excited it was a boy!  We had dessert and enjoyed each other's company.  We also had them each write a sweet note to our baby in a sweet children's book.  I know that is something we will cherish forever.

I've been pinning baby stuff the past year or so and still can't believe sometimes it is actually happening!  I've been obsessed the past few months with picking out nursery items and planning how I will decorate for a boy or a girl.  With that said, we are so excited and can't wait to start actually decorating and getting ready for sweet Ellis!
